In service or saviour
I love clever warriors.
You have a spirit burning with the desire to make the world a better place.
You believe in change, in possibility! You have a fire in your belly to make a difference and woman, is a difference needed right now in our world.
I too was a clever one.
And yet.
It was my saviourhood that eventually got me into burnout.
We cannot heal the world if we are deeply wounded. We can’t create peace on earth with a war raging within and we can't re-imagine systems of prejudice and oppression if we despise ourselves.
There is a wiser, more connected, more loving, more powerful way of being and bringing our skills and gifts into the world...
I’ve met many brilliant warriors like you.
They’re my dear friends, I’ve spent my life working with them, had the honour of coaching and giving talks to them, and stood alongside them in solidarity through the most devastating blows.
And there are 7 commons traits of us warriors, that I’ve seen again and again, that keep us stuck in clever gear:

We are self-sacrificing
We ignore our wants and needs, we have disconnected from our bodies and think self-care is a luxury we can’t afford.

We are wounded
We carry our unresolved and deeply held trauma with us, so that our nervous systems are dysregulated and we are often reactive.

We have self-doubt
We have so much value yet we lack a sense of self worth, we don’t know or optimally harness our gifts, talents and skills.

We are self-critical
We are deeply compassionate yet this is frequently directed towards others and not to ourselves.

We are driven by achievement
We seek rewards, awards, accolades and other external validation, fueled by a looming sense of deficiency; that we are not enough.

We feel isolated and unclear
We lose sight of our own message, mission and legacy, slipping further from ourselves and others as we become unable to follow the wild wisdom of our hearts.

We feel responsible for everyone and everything
We become saviours, rescuers or compulsive caregivers, instead of living surrendered, being in service.
